September 3, 2025: A Chronicle from a Lost Timeline Has Materialized!

In the midst of temporal distortions and visits from paradox parrots, another anomaly has occurred here at M&D—but this one is for the history books. A shipment of mysterious chronicles has materialized in our stockroom. We weren’t expecting a delivery, and Tilley the parrot has been squawking about “echoes in the timeline” ever since the box appeared.
Inside, we found pristine copies of a book titled “Guardians of the Keystones: Echoes.”
Is it a work of fiction, or is it a recovered record from a timeline we’ve yet to encounter? A warning from the future? A memory of a past that might have been? Whatever the case, this story has arrived at our nexus point, and now we’re making it available to you.
Authenticated Chronicles (Signed Copies)
The guardian of this particular chronicle (that would be me, Ed) will be on-site to personally authenticate your copy with an inscription. If you wish to have your edition verified, you must venture to the shop during one of the following stable temporal windows:

If you would like your copy personalized, be sure to stop by over the weekend or the following Wednesday. We will have a book signing event on September 20, 2025 at both M&D and Mr. Comics.Get your copy before they sell out!!
August 19, 2025: The print copies of my new book have finally been ordered and are being printed soon. I expect them to arrive soon and we will be holding a book signing event at the shop. Keep an eye out for that coming very soon.
August 18, 2025: The Blue Anomaly
The weeks following our escape from the Institute’s lab had been a blur of paranoia and repairs. Every customer seemed like a potential agent, every flicker of the lights a sign of an incoming temporal rift. Ed had been working tirelessly on the Chronosphere, patching its wounds with a soldering iron and a prayer, while Kelly tried to maintain a shred of normalcy amidst the chaos of running the shop.
It was a quiet Monday afternoon. Ed was restocking the kratom shelf when the air in the corner of the shop, right above the Delta-8 gummies, began to shimmer. It wasn’t the violent, ozone-scented tear of the Chronosphere; this was a gentle, silent distortion, like heat haze on a summer road. The light coalesced for a fraction of a second, and then it was gone.
Sitting atop a box of Runtz edibles, as if he’d been there all day, was a parrot. A Quaker parrot of a brilliant, impossible blue, ruffling his feathers calmly.
Ed and Kelly froze, staring. The door hadn’t opened. No one had come in.
Slowly, Ed approached. “Well,” he said, his voice a low whisper. “That’s new.”
The bird tilted his head, his dark eyes seeming to hold an ancient intelligence. He looked directly at Ed, puffed out his chest, and spoke in a voice that was a perfect, chilling mimicry of the Institute’s alarm system they’d heard in the lab. It was a sound no creature from their timeline should know.
After the series of synthetic blares, the parrot switched to a clear, chipper voice and squawked, “Random jump! Random jump! Oh boy!”—mimicking Ed’s own panicked cry from inside the Chronosphere during their disastrous trip from the Cretaceous period.
Kelly’s jaw dropped. “Ed… how could it know that?”
Before he could answer, the blue parrot hopped down onto the counter, waddled over to a stray vape battery, and tapped it with his beak. He then looked up at Kelly and, in a completely new, strangely comforting tone, declared, “Tilly’s a good boy! Chronosphere is safe. For now.”
They were speechless. This wasn’t just a bird; it was a witness, a messenger that had somehow traveled through a temporal echo of their own journey. Tucked under one of his blue wings, they could just make out the glint of a small, metallic data capsule, held in place by a tiny harness.
Tilly the parrot had arrived at M&D Smoke and Vape. And with him, a thousand new questions and the undeniable certainty that their little shop had just become a sanctuary for the strangest refugee in the history of time. #chronos

July 6, 2025: You guys, it’s finally real! For months (okay, let’s be honest, years), I’ve been on a wild creative journey, and I’m so stoked to announce that my science fantasy novel, “Guardians of the Keystones: Echoes,” is officially launching!
This book has been my baby. It’s been written, rewritten, and yes, even ceremonially burned a few times when it just wasn’t right. But that’s all in the past! Now, the story is exactly where it needs to be, and I have a really good feeling you’re all going to have a blast reading it.
Prepare to dive into a new world! The first book of the series is just days away from being available online and in print.
And what’s a book launch without a party? We’re going to be hosting a book signing event right here at M&D Smoke and Vape in Gulf Breeze! Think of it as a celebration of creativity and community. Stay tuned to the website for the date – it’s coming soon and you won’t want to miss it!
The Bootstrap Prophecy
July 2, 2025 : This past weekend, Kelly and I got into a bit of trouble. We had jumped into the future on a mission to save Elara from the Chronos Institute. After getting her out, we became trapped in a sterile corridor deep within the Institute. In our escape, the Chronosphere was damaged. I spent minutes we did not have trying to bypass the damaged control panel, so we could possibly do an emergency jump back to the shop. I had to access the device’s core programming, which is a part of the device I’ve never touched. Deep within the code, I found a hidden, encrypted partition. I was able to unlock it and found a single video log. The person making the recording was a much older, grizzled version of myself, alongside a sharp, composed future Kelly.
The message revealed a mind-bending truth: We didn’t just find the Chronosphere. Future Ed built it!! Our older selves, as key figures in a future rebellion, sent the device back in time to our younger selves. Our “accident” that started the journey was a pre-programmed catalyst. The entire adventure, from the first jump to meet Elara, has been part of a massive, stable time loop that we created ourselves. It was engineered to ensure the rebellion would eventually have the tools and the leaders it needed. The message ended with a cryptic warning: “The Institute is not the only player in this game. The Temporal Guard’s fear is real. We need to find out what they were truly afraid of.”

Back in Time?
April 8, 2025: Ed, ever the tinkerer, was fiddling with the Chronosphere’s control panel back in the relative safety of the M&D stockroom. “Kelly, check this out,” he called, pointing to a flickering coordinate set. “I was trying to recalibrate after that Temporal Guard chase near 2342, and I think… I think I accidentally locked onto the Cretaceous period.” Kelly, busy organizing a new shipment of disposables, raised an eyebrow. “The dinosaur one? Ed, we agreed, no messing around after nearly getting disintegrated last time!” But Ed’s eyes had that familiar gleam of chaotic inspiration. “Think of the marketing, Kelly! ‘Vapes So Good, They’re Prehistoric!’ We just pop in, grab a giant fern leaf for a photo op, and pop right back. Five minutes, tops!”
Against Kelly’s better judgment, the allure of a truly unique website photo was too strong. The familiar hum of the Chronosphere filled the room, replaced moments later by the thick, humid air and buzzing insects of a primeval jungle. It was majestic, terrifying, and smelled vaguely like damp moss and something enormous nearby. “Okay, Ed, grab your leaf, let’s go!” Kelly urged, nervously scanning the treeline. Ed posed triumphantly with a fern frond the size of a small car, but just as Kelly snapped the picture, a deafening roar echoed nearby. A T-Rex, much larger and closer than anticipated, crashed through the foliage. Scrambling back to the Chronosphere, Ed fumbled with the controls, accidentally hitting the ‘random jump’ button instead of ‘return home’. The stockroom vanished, replaced not by M&D, but by the gleaming, sterile corridor of what looked suspiciously like a Chronos Institute lab.
Panic set in. They weren’t home, they weren’t in the Cretaceous, and they definitely weren’t safe. Alarms blared, triggered by their unauthorized arrival. “Ed! You random-jumped us into the bad guys’ headquarters?” Kelly hissed, grabbing a heavy-duty vape mod like a makeshift weapon. Footsteps pounded down the hallway – not the Temporal Guard this time, but Institute security. Trapped between prehistoric predators and future fascists, Ed frantically worked the controls, hoping the Chronosphere had enough juice for one more jump, anywhere but here, while Kelly braced for a fight they were wildly unprepared for. This time-travel thing was getting complicated.

We’re Back in Action (and Hopefully Staying That Way!)
January 23, 2025: Woohoo! We’re thrilled to announce that we’re back to our regular hours and ready to serve you! It was fantastic seeing so many familiar faces today, and we hope even more of you will brave the lingering chill and come say hello in the next few days. 👋
We know you all enjoyed a few unexpected snow days (who doesn’t love a surprise winter wonderland? ❄️), and truth be told, we had some fun too! But it’s definitely good to be back in the swing of things and catching up with our wonderful customers.
Now, for a little personal update… It seems this winter weather had it out for me! I ended up taking an unexpected trip to the hospital (again!). They were keen on keeping me overnight for observation, but let’s be honest, who wants to be stuck in a hospital bed when there’s a winter wonderland to enjoy? So, I opted for the comforts of home and I’m happy to report that I’m doing much better now. 😊
Hopefully, this little health hiccup won’t turn into another extended hospital stay. I try to keep those to a minimum (once a year is my limit!), and definitely spaced out by at least 8-10 months. So, fingers crossed, I’ve got a good while before I’m “allowed” another unplanned visit to the ICU! 😜

January 22, 2025: Okay, folks, we’re planning to shake off those winter blues and reopen our doors tomorrow, January 23rd, at 11:00 AM! Of course, Mother Nature has a mind of her own, so this is entirely dependent on the roads being safe for both our wonderful staff and our amazing customers. 🤞
Now, while I’d love to promise I’ll be there bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, full of pep and ready to go, let’s be realistic… it’s more likely I’ll resemble something closer to a sleepy, slightly frostbitten yeti who just crawled out of hibernation. 🥶 But hey, I’ll be there! (And maybe with a little extra coffee, who knows, I might even manage a smile! 😉)

Wow! SNOW!!
January 21, 2025: Well, it appears that Old Man Winter has firmly planted himself here, blanketing the ground in a thick layer of snow! Our furry friend Bailey experienced his very first snow day today, and let’s just say he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it all. With hesitant steps, he ventured out into the wintry wonderland, but he absolutely refused to let his paws touch the cold, white stuff!
Unfortunately, the news for tomorrow isn’t promising, as it seems this frosty weather has decided to overstay its welcome. With the safety of our valued customers and staff in mind, we’ve made the difficult decision to extend our closure through Wednesday.
Of course, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast, and if by some chance the weather takes a turn for the better, we may just open our doors. However, we must confess that such a change seems rather unlikely at this point. Should you be brave enough to venture out later in the week, we strongly encourage you to give us a call before heading our way, just to be sure.
In the meantime, please stay warm, stay safe, and extend a little kindness to those around you. And know that your understanding and patience are deeply appreciated!
Weather Update!!
January 20, 2025: Due to extreme cold weather and the high potential for snow and ice, we will be closed on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. We hope to reopen on Wednesday, but please check here or call first to insure we are at the shop. It looks like we are going to have some rough weather and your safety is a concern for us. Be safe and stay warm, and we will see you when it’s a little warmer.
Suspicions are in the air!!
January 19, 2025: The shop was eerily quiet, the kind of quiet that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end. Suddenly, the door burst open and three figures, faces etched with suspicion and urgency, stormed in. They were rebels, still fighting a desperate battle against the shadowy Institute, and they believed a traitor lurked among them.
Their eyes darted around, taking in every detail of the shop, before settling on me. A chill ran down my spine as they revealed their suspicions – someone was feeding information to the Institute, jeopardizing their every move, and even attempting to capture Elara, who remains a key figure in their rebellion. For a heart-stopping moment, I was their prime suspect, but they seemed to have discarded that theory, at least for now.
But their words lingered, echoing in my mind. Could I be under the Institute’s control, unknowingly leading them to the rebels’ hideout? The thought sent a shiver down my spine.
The rebels’ faces were grim as they discussed the traitor in their midst. Who could it be? What could drive someone to betray their comrades, to put them all in mortal danger? The weight of their suspicion hung heavy in the air, suffocating the once peaceful atmosphere of the shop.
Meanwhile, the Chronosphere, our incredible time-bending device, lay dormant in its hiding place. It had been weeks since its last use, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that it was somehow connected to these unsettling events. Was our ability to manipulate time attracting unwanted attention? Had the government gotten wind of our secret, of the extraordinary power we wielded in this unassuming little vape shop?
The rebels’ visit had shattered the quiet calm, leaving behind a sense of unease and foreboding. What dangers lurked around the corner? What fate awaited us, the guardians of the Chronosphere, as we continued to navigate the treacherous currents of time?

January 17, 2025: Brrr! It looks like Old Man Winter is coming to town early next week. 🥶 ❄️
We’re expecting some seriously frigid temperatures on Monday and Tuesday, January 20th and 21st, and there’s even a chance the bridge may close.
As of right now, we plan to be open our regular hours. However, your safety is our top priority! If road conditions become hazardous, we may adjust our hours.

Elara and the Rebels visit us!
January 5, 2025:The fluorescent lights hummed above, casting a sterile glow on the M&D shop. I hunched over my computer, wrestling with a particularly stubborn ad for the store TV. Suddenly, the floor lurched beneath my feet, sending a jolt of panic through me. Before I could even register what was happening, three figures materialized out of thin air.
Elara, the rebel leader, her eyes wide with a mixture of fear and determination, scanned the shop frantically. “Is it safe?” she gasped, her voice barely a whisper. “Is the Chronosphere still hidden?”
My heart pounded in my chest. “Yes,” I managed to say, “it’s secure.”
“The Institute is closing in,” she explained, her voice laced with urgency. “They’re hunting me. They want to dissect me, to understand how I can control time.”
A cold dread washed over me. Elara was the first of her kind, a temporal anomaly capable of bending time to her will. The Institute, obsessed with unlocking the secrets of time travel, would stop at nothing to capture her.
With her life hanging by a thread, Elara’s desperation was palpable. I scrambled to gather supplies, anything that might aid them in their escape. Time was of the essence.
“We have to go,” Elara declared, her gaze fixed on some invisible point in spacetime. “They could be here any minute.”
And with another ripple of displaced air, they vanished. I was left alone, the silence of the shop pressing in on me. Where would they go? Would they find sanctuary before the Institute’s relentless pursuit caught up with them? I could only hope, for Elara’s sake, and for the sake of the future itself.
Florida bans certain disposable!
January 4, 2025: The state of Florida is banning certain disposables as of January 1, 2025. We have some of them in stock, so get them while they are still here. Looking Back on 2024 and Forward to a New Year!
January 1, 2025: Wow, 2024 was certainly a year to remember! Time flew by, and a lot happened here at M&D Smoke and Vape. From Kelly becoming the new owner to some unexpected health challenges for Ed (who thankfully recovered!), it was a year of change and growth.
Amidst all the excitement, Ed also embarked on a new creative journey, beginning to write a book and crafting a captivating short story series, “The Chronos Trials,” exclusively for our website.
